Roche signs on with Allaire

Roche Pharmaceuticals Australia has signed on with Allaire to implement its new Spectra intranet system, with the first phase involving 200 field salespeople.

Roche will roll out the content management and Web publishing aspects of Spectra within three months, including an internal human resources solution, a sales representative database and a distance education solution for its salesforce.

Roche will also use the foundation technology for Spectra, Allaire's ColdFusion Web server, to integrate with its existing installation of SAP's enterprise resource planning suite using third-party middleware.

"Its core workflow service gives us cross-functionality between departments, so somebody who doesn't have Web experience can actually provide content," said Tony Grier, manager of Internet and multimedia services for the PharmaRx division of Roche. See our review of Spectra on page 62.
