Teradata becomes a Hummingbird reseller
Teradata customers will be able to select and acquire a business intelligence tool from Hummingbird from the one source - Teradata. The two companies announced the agreement today.
Two Hummingbird products will come under the reseller agreement, Hummingbird's ETL and BI tools. ETL will offer users an extract, transfer and load (ETL) tool and of course a business intelligence tool. By adding the Hummingbird ETL tool to its offering Teradata is able to offer customers and end users a system for consolidating their data into a single data warehouse to ensure all data comes from a single source of the truth.
Teradata said that ETL will be "leveraged" off their Database Management System (DBMS) to ensure that performance doesn't drop as data amounts grow.
"To guarantee the success of our customers, it is essential that we have meaningful partnerships with vendors who integrate well with the Teradata platform," said Stephen Brobst, Teradata's chief technical officer. "The unique ELT approach used by Hummingbird has proven to be very effective in handling complex transformations at large volume with high performance by generating advanced SQL constructs for parallel execution inside the relational DBMS engine."
