Enterprises can now ground Microsoft Copilot, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini and Cursor in a single governed knowledge source through new connectors from eGain.
The connectors link the AI platforms to eGain AI Knowledge Hub, the company's AI-powered knowledge management platform. Every model, agent and agentic developer environment can then draw on accurate, up-to-date knowledge rather than fragmented and outdated sources.
eGain pointed to research from MIT and analyst firms showing that enterprise AI initiatives fail at high rates when they lack a governed knowledge foundation. When any AI system pulls from fragmented, ungoverned sources, the company said, it produces contradictory outputs, creates compliance exposure and stalls AI adoption.
The stakes rise as enterprises move from AI that answers questions to AI that takes actions. When agents act autonomously on behalf of employees and customers, eGain said, ungoverned knowledge does not just produce wrong answers, it causes agents to amplify those errors across every interaction, creating operational and compliance failures that are costly to reverse.
The new connectors are part of the broader eGain AI Knowledge Connector family, which supports the Model Context Protocol, the emerging standard for connecting AI agents to enterprise systems. eGain also offers pre-built connectors for agentic developer environments including Windsurf, VS Code and Kiro, and supports any MCP-compatible platform through its open architecture.
Unlike basic retrieval approaches, eGain said, it delivers certified answers with source citations, giving every connected model, agent and IDE access to verified, traceable knowledge. The same governed knowledge that powers customer service and employee productivity can now inform how enterprise software is built.

He said the connectors let organisations apply one trusted knowledge foundation across Copilot, Claude, Gemini, Cursor and whatever comes next.
The MIT research eGain cited has been widely discussed for its finding that most enterprise AI pilots fail to reach production.
