ICT Boost For North Sydney

ICT Boost For North Sydney

May 3nd, 2006: The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) and the NSW Department of State and Regional Development have joined forces to increase local Information and Communication Technology (ICT) business prospects in North Sydney.

After being successfully established in Victoria and Western Australia, the AIIA’s new CollabIT program was launched in Sydney on the 1st of May, drawing the attention of 100 SME ICT businesses.

According to the AIIA, CollabIT provides SME’s with the opportunity to form collaborative networks to expand their markets and increase sales.

“By bringing together the diverse range of ICT capabilities into business networks, AIIA’s small to medium enterprise (SME) members can pool their resources to bid for ICT contracts normally out of their reach,” says Rob Durie, AIIA Chief Executive Officer.

“CollabIT will help AIIA members and other interested parties to not only establish partnerships with similar small Australian companies, but also to forge alliances with multinational corporations, tap into their substantial resources and access new markets.”

The AIIA says that it has developed the CollabIT framework to encompass industry sub-sectors, such as health, integrated transport systems and mining technologies in order to help build partnering opportunities across all ICT industry ‘touch points’.
