Formtek has announced five new Software Extensions for Alfresco ECM platform, including a  File Linking Extension that allows a single document stored in Alfresco to be accessible from multiple locations without physically duplicating the document.

Metalogix Software has announced the purchase of Syntergy’s SharePoint solutions including Replicator for SharePoint, a web-based solution used to synchronise and manage business intelligence in realtime across multiple SharePoint environments.

“We currently store our electronic documents on network file shares and once the Intranet is redeveloped, we hope to encourage staff to use this as the place to store electronic documents,” said Amanda Lea, Manager, Corporate Information at the The Department for Communities WA.

At Whitireia NZ, one of New Zealand’s largest learning institutions with five campus’s and approximately 1000 full and part time staff, SharePoint 2010 is being deployed for document and records management, application development and workflow. It is being used for the organisational intranet and TeamSites.

A staggered rollout across the whole organisation uses a taxonomy developed for all NZ polytechnics based on Records Disposals Acts (NZ).
