For the second year in a row, K2 blackpearl won the Best of Tech·Ed North America Award for “SharePoint Development” product. This is the first time a company has been awarded back-to-back honours.

K2 blackpearl software provides visual tools that make it easy to assemble and run business applications — within or independent of SharePoint — using forms, workflow, line-of-business data and reports.

The Best of Tech·Ed awards coincide with the Microsoft Tech·Ed North America conference.

“We are honored by this distinction and proud of our work around process automation in SharePoint,” said Adriaan Van Wyk, K2 CEO.

“And while we are always fixated on innovation, this award feels like a nice boost of momentum as we prepare to release our new K2 smartforms™ product.”

K2 smartforms provides K2 blackpearl users a faster, easier way to create forms for business applications. Reusable components can be dragged and dropped into place, then the form can be tied to workflow and line-of business data.

Another element of the K2 blackpearl platform is the K2 Designer for SharePoint, which Van Wyk describes as a web-based, drag-and-drop designer that “makes it easy to build workflows and applications that streamline operations, reduce costs and increase visibility.”
