Brio adopts XML and WML
Business intelligence developer Brio Technology has announced it will integrate the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) and the Wireless Markup Language (WML) into its software.
The company will start by using the relatively new technologies to extend content from its Brio.Report BI tool out to mobile wireless devices. Brio's corporate portal application, Brio.Portal, was gained by the company when it acquired fellow BI vendor Sqribe last year.
MyLivelink goes live
Canadian developer Open Text has made the official release of myLivelink, the enterprise information portal interface to its flagship Livelink knowledge management application.
MyLivelink is a personalised workspace for Open Text's document management, groupware and collaboration applications, as well as allowing the integration of data from diverse sources such as SAP or Lotus Notes. The module also supports the integration of Web content and files which use the Extensible Markup Language (XML).
The myLivelink module was detailed by the company last April, but it only announced that the product would be available in March.
Tibco packs portal pouch
Tibco Software has introduced a quick deployment tool for corporate portals called the TIB/Portalpack.
The software enables builder of both consumer and corporate portals to integrate financial data, news, weather, sports and multimedia content from wire services such as Reuters and Hoovers.
Components in the suite of applications in the pack include content feed handlers and application servers which download the content automatically.
