NZ developer seeks Aussie sellers

Wellington-based development firm Silent One is close to a full release of its knowledge management software (as reported in May/June 1999, page 26), and is looking for Australian resellers and integrators for what it hopes will be a leading international product.

The company claims the SilentOne application merges document management into Web content management, to create what it calls distributed document services.

"SilentOne will be particularly attractive to organisations with distributed operations who wish to provide their staff with access to comprehensive knowledge libraries," said Ian Hight, director of Silent One.

The software is currently at version 2.2, and is installed at several New Zealand organisations already with three resellers signed up, but the company said it wanted to establish the product in New Zealand before embarking upon its primary goal of establishing the product internationally.

The software is built on the Microsoft DNA platform, requiring Windows NT 4.0 at the server level, including Internet Information Server 4.0 and Index Server, and Windows 95/98 or NT workstation 4.0 Service Pack 3; Office 97, and Internet Explorer 4 at the client level.

Silent One is owned and operated by a small group of NZ-based business entrepreneurs, helped along by a grant from the NZ Government.
