IBM alliance broadens content management system

IBM is to collaborate with enterprise content integration software provider Context Media in order to allow IBM's DB2 content manager customer base to access and present content from multiple repositories using Context's content integration software.

As part of the agreement, Context Media integrated its Interchange Suite software with the IBM DB2 Content Manager portfolio. The integration will enable customers to access content that resides in multiple repositories across the enterprise through a single interface.

The integration of both products allows businesses to build solutions that aggregate content stored in multiple repositories and systems around an enterprise and present it securely to end-users through a single view. The single view can be presented through IBM DB2 Content Manager, a Websphere Portal interface, Context Media’s Intershare client, or a combination of all of these. As a result, end-users do not require proprietary client software to access stored content.

"Customers must often rely on the unique features and capabilities of different content management, digital asset management and document management systems in order to streamline their business operations," said Dan Harple, CEO of Context Media.

"That’s why many organisations have multiple systems within their enterprise. By working with IBM, we’re giving users a unified way to access disparate content while enabling organisations to maintain the technology investments and established business processes they already use."
