More RAM, more speed

Light Years Ahead, the Australian distributors for US company, Helix Software, has announced the release of Helix's Hurricane 2.02 program for 386, 486 and Pentium class PCs running Windows 3.1, 3.11 or Windows 95.

Hurricane hunts down unused memory to replace virtual memory, by compressing RAM in the background while your PC is still waiting for your hard disk. In fact, Hurricane incorporates a range of system enhancing utilities which install (or de-install) automatically, to assist a system operate at peak speed.

"Hurricane makes your whole system run much faster and allows you to load more and larger programs at once, work with maximum efficiency, and eliminate 'out of memory' errors," said Light Years Ahead's managing director, Ian Eastman.

"Even if you have tons of RAM, Hurricane has loads of performance features to accelerate your computing," he said. "In fact an 8MB system can perform almost as well as a 16MB system"

Under Windows 95, Hurricane compresses regular RAM into normally useless areas that are inaccessible to programs - giving users added memory without any slowdown. Hurricane is currently available for $149.
