McPherson's chose EMC's Celerra NS600 solution after it came out on top out following a rigorous testing process, meeting the printing company's three core selection criteria: a high level of redundancy, high percentage of uptime and the provision of a central repository.

McPherson's Printing Group, based in Victoria, is one of Australia's major commercial printing companies, It has a digital print facility requiring a very high level of reliability and data input, making it reliant on a storage system with impressive redundancy and throughput. The ability of EMC's NS600 to deliver this functionality won EMC the deal.

Brett Tyers, IT business analyst /programmer, McPherson's Digital Printing Group said: "EMC proved they could deliver and support a NAS solution that would meet our intense data and traffic requirements on an ongoing basis. There was only a limited number of solutions that come close to meeting our expectations and of these, EMC was the clear winner.

Steve Redman, managing director, EMC Australia and New Zealand, expressed his delight at winning the contract.

"This win, under highly competitive circumstances, proves that EMC offers the best in breed technology in the NAS market. NAS is a growth area for EMC and McPherson's confidence in both our products and EMC's ability to support its customers, represents a great future for us in this space."
