Who Reads IDM?
In 2008, McNair Ingenuity Research found that IDM readers worked at organisations that planned to spend on average $A1.7M on equipment and/or services for document/records management in the next 12 months.
More than 2/3 use Imaging Systems that include in-house scanning technologies.
More than 2/3 use a Document Management System for physical records and electronic documents.
IDM readers are involved in specifying, recommending, purchasing or approving for purchase the following products and services: Document/Records Management (69%); Imaging systems, including scanners (56%); and Content Management (52%)
Regarding products, services and technologies respondents were most likely to install in the next 6-12 months, the most commonly mentioned were: Imaging - Multifunctional scanners (33%); Storage - Disk Based Storage (33%); Services - Consulting Services (37%) and Training (36%).
More than half (57%) said they were considering implementing a Knowledge Management strategy or policy in the future.
