Chng Joins OnBase by Hyland to lead APAC Sales

ReadSoft acquisition is now ouut of reach

ECM vendor OnBase by Hyland has added former EMC executive Eugene Chng as its Director of Sales in Asia-Pacific, and according to reports the company has given up the chase to acquire capture specialist ReadSoft.

Most recently, Chng was the vice president of the information intelligence group, Asia-Pacific Japan at EMC, and he brings more than 30 years’ experience in the IT industry. Prior to joining EMC, Chng held various senior leadership positions at multi-national IT companies including IBM, NCR, Avaya and PeopleSoft.

“I’m excited to lead OnBase sales for the Asia-Pacific region,” Chng said. “I believe my prior success executing effective sales programmes and growth strategies across Asia-Pacific will help OnBase achieve its goals to expand its customer base, maximise current end-users satisfaction and bolster its reputation in the region.”

Chng earned an MBA from National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from National University of Singapore.

According to online reports, Hyland Software has withdrawn its bid on ReadSoft after bidding rival Lexmark raised its offer for the company to 57 Swedish crowns ($US8.22) per share and said it owns 42.9 per cent of ReadSoft shares and 57.7 per cent of the votes, after buying out ReadSoft founders Lars Appelstål and Jan Anderson.
